Again Salix proving why they are one of the best bat makers in the uk. Attention to detail on every aspect and they just make quality. Takes a little while but worth the wait because you won't be disappointed. Thanks again

I recently visited Salix when looking for replacement cricket pads and gloves for my son. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful showing a genuine interest in the level of cricket he plays to offer the best suited equipment (not the most expensive). Kelly couldn’t do enough to help, thanks again! Overall a great service, great products and an all round fantastic set up. Highly recommended!

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience of Salix and have been delighted with level of service and expertise over a number of years. The bats are absolutely stunning and the service from Andrew, Kel and Sam has been second to none. I travel some distance with my son and will continue to do so. The whole experience of being able to select a bat that is right for you is very special and the finished product looks amazing and most importantly plays brilliantly. Thank you and look forward to dealing with you for many years to come.

I had an Acid bat made for my Son at Salix and he’s never used a bat like it! Superb craftsmanship and it works superbly well. Waited for an Acid bat sleeve and true to their word they have contacted me when stocks came in. Excellent customer service and care.

I bought a SH Salix AMP adult bat for my 14yr son last Christmas from a 3rd party cricket store. The bat was used indoors with softer cricket balls and lots of knocking in. Ready for the outdoor season. After a couple of matches outdoors it developed a hairline crack running parallel with the scuff guard. I emailed Salix and they said to send it directly to them. I drove the next day from Bournemouth to Salix in Kent to get a replacement bat. Andrew Kember said it's just a scuff guard mark, sanded it fitted a new scuff guard and charged me £10. My son got part of a season out of the bat before it failed in exactly the same place. I posted it back, it was repaired, and we tried it again. 3 x 15min net sessions later and it failed in the same place. We bought another bat from Salix, as a replacement wasn't an option as far as Kel was concerned, and my son started using the new bat. It took 3 months and 2 emails to get the original bat back which failed on the first use. I asked again for a replacement bat and was told no. The best Salix would offer was 50% off. Very very very disappointing! The last 2 photos are of the bat as it is now. I've used the bat myself in a half a dozen Sunday matches this season and I don't spend long out in the middle, unfortunately. I started to take the scuff guard off to have a go at repairing it myself. However, the scuff guard was covering a large crack behind the face of the bat. Which I feel has always been there and is way beyond my bat repairing skills. I'll now have to pay someone locally to repair the bat again. If it can be repaired. This AMP Salix bat is the most expensive cricket bat I've ever had the misfortune of owning. Andrew Kember seems to take this bat failing as some sort of personal insult. Sometimes bats fail and not through any fault of the craftsman's making them. Salix do have a good product and the 2nd bat we bought has been great. However, I my opinion Salix will only do superficial repairs, not replacements. And on products that cost hundreds of pounds I find that completely unacceptable. Yes Andrew, the bat was bought from a 3rd party and on Kel's insistence it was brought directly back to Salix. Well within warranty with a crack behind the face of the bat which was hidden by the scuff guard. I'm sorry you felt threatened Andrew but we feel completely let down by Salix. As I said we don't want another bat, it's too late, but I hope this helps others get the service they deserve. You're a very skilful bat maker with a great product but sometimes bats fail. You had a customer locked in for life with Salix as we love the look and feel of the bats you make and the 2nd bat we bought has been 100%. However, you failed to deliver with an acceptable degree of aftercare on what is clearly a faulty bat. I hope you are able to put things into perspective and move forward.

Finally got to use the new bat having not been able to play for a couple of weeks. It's an absolute beast. Highly recommend the bat fitting sessions to everyone. You will be well looked after and it's super fun seeing the bats take shape

Recent edit: You HAVE to go to their in-person bat fittings. It's the best experience. Andrew and Kel are exceptionally knoweldgeable and tell you all you need to know about the grade of wood you're selected, performance variation etc. etc. Their rates in the workshop are unreal, too. Original review: For me, the best in the business. I've been using Salix bats now for around 12 years and have never been disappointed. If I've ever had any issues I've been sent replacements, and I wouldn't go anywhere else for my cricket gear (despite being a few hours away in Northants). Keep up the good work, guys!
